Well here I am.  Thanks to my dear friend, Scarlet Lotus St. Syr, I now have my own official domain.  She also did the awesome design-she’s brilliant!  Check out her design page at Scarlet Creatrix Designs.

I want to give a little back story as to how Mango Phoenix came to be.  As you may know, Phoenix Unbound was the original name.  Unfortunately, or fortunately, that domain was already taken.  I was stumped.  I wanted something original but also something that conveyed the meaning of this blog.  The only thing I could think of was Phoenix Undone.  Scarlet had the wonderful idea of using a band name generator.  She typed in Phoenix and wow… some of the results lead to copious amounts of laugher and “what the fuck?!”s.   One of the results was Phoenix Mango.  Immediately we both exclaimed, “how perfect?!”.  By this point, I believe her partner Onyx was thinking we were both a little crazy.  Who can blame him?  After some more results and pondering, the debate was between Mango Phoenix or Phoenix Undone.  Obviously, Mango Phoenix won.  Crazy, random, and so very perfectly me for anyone who knows my obsession with all things mango.

Along with the original plan of posting my journey, experiences, and self discoveries tied with my recent move here to Portland from Alaska, I will be adding a new feature.  I will be posting the occasional recipe containing well…what else? Mango!

I want this blog to be inspirational, slightly educational, and fun.  If you have any ideas as to what I can add, please share.  I will give you credit for the idea if I decide to use it.
